Tell us about yourself and your music

I’m not really a singer. I am married to a Baptist preacher, and I have been singing in church for most of my life, but I never thought I would do music “seriously.” But a few years ago, out of the blue, the Lord began impressing me to write songs. This was quite a shock because I had not intended to be a songwriter! He just kept giving me words and tunes, so I started writing them down. I didn’t tell anyone what I was doing, and it was several months before I even told my husband! He was pleasantly surprised and encouraged me to sing for the church. I tried out one of my songs one Sunday morning, and the congregation loved it. So I just kept on writing.
I had a tremendous opportunity this past June to go to Alexandria, Indiana for a 4 day Songwriting Intensive with none other than Gloria Gaither! What an experience! Loved every minute, and came home with new incentive and inspiration! I wrote several songs soon after returning.
I am mainly interested in getting my songs out to someone that is interested in recording them. I just don’t have to voice to do it on my own.

What inspired you to write this release?

Any plans to hit the road?

I do travel a little in the area doing concerts and women’s retreats. I don’t have any plans to travel full time, as I am pretty busy at the church!

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

I just do what I do! I guess I could brand myself as a “Preachers’ Wife, Country/Gospel singer-songwriter, leader of the all-girl Singing4God Ministries group.”

Who have you been listening to lately?

I love the old traditional country music – like Hank Williams, Jim Reaves, Tammy Wynette, etc. I listen to a lot of that, and also Southern Gospel.

Tell us about your passions

I love the outdoors. We live in Southeastern Arizona, and even though we are in the desert, it is only a short 30 miles to a 10,000 ft mountain that is absolutely beautiful. We enjoy riding in the Jeep in the desert and on the mountain.

What else is happening next in your world?

My husband just had back surgery, and we are working to get him back in shape! Then I want to spend more time in my music room – writing, recording, praying, and studying. My little group, Singing4God Ministries wants to get busy doing more concerts, revivals, festivals, and such. So hopefully we can get busy with that too.
